  1. First anniversary for this blog tryout, and only 70 posts. Not quite the productive blogger. I didn't think I would last this long though, I thought of quiting many times because this form doesn't quite correspond to what I'm looking for in film talk and film criticism. Maybe I didn't understand what is a "blog" yet...

This index replaces the tag categories normally available on advanced blogs, which allows to scan a blog thematically. To write entries thematically is more consistent than to interrupt a line of thought by unrelated reviews and news too. So maybe I can write more without worrying about warping up a previous article first...

Hopefully the new options of the beta blogger will add more fun and efficacity to the blog experience.

  2. Harry, I've read your blog for a while now and I've especially liked your Critical Fallicies articles. I'm wondering why, living in France, you've decided to blog in english.

I'm a bit of a francophile and, while I'm not yet fluent, I read a few french film blogs to supplement my offline studies.

  3. Hi Ted,
you're welcome. What French blogs do you read? Do you have a blog yourself?

I'm looking for cross-cultural exchanges, to talk to cinephiles outside my country, beyond the language barrier. Unfortunately I'm not sure English lives up to this ambition of being the international language. Even the cinephiles from English-spoken places (outside of USA) are largely underrepresented in the cinephile blogosphere (that I know of). Not to mention non-English audiences...

  4. While I enjoy blogs and the possibilities they present for film criticism, I do not have one myself. I'm not sure I'd make a very good critic or if I'd have the time to keep a blog updated.

Lately the french blogs I've read the most have been Inisfree, Cinematique, et Contrechamp. Perhaps you could direct me to some other worthwhile ones.

  5. I can't recommend you anything special, I haven't found much in French, I should look harder I guess. Even the Cahiers forum looks like RottenTomatoes 5 years ago... it's not saying much on the French blogosphere.
